Neurologic complications such as seizure disorders, movement disorders, spasticity, and cognitive decline are common medical issues that occur during the lifetime of an individual with Developmental Disabilities. Challenging behaviors and other medical complications often are comorbidities in those with DD. These conditions are cared for by the primary physician and other specialists. The role in which the neurologist should work within this context of a multidisciplinary approach will be reviewed.
