This recording will examine common intervention strategies that are used to support individuals who are dually diagnosed and experiencing acute behavioral issues. However, aspects of the crisis intervention strategies may be inadvertently reinforcing the dangerous or destructive behavior that initiated intervention. The presentation will examine opportunities to alter crisis intervention strategies to increase effects and help individuals learn to work with those in their home environment to access similar reinforces.
